How do I add the Facebook Subscribe button to my profile?

A few days ago Facebook launched a new feature called “Subscribers“. There is speculation that this came about due to the recent success of Twitter and Google+ following a similar method. Like “following” someone on Twitter or “circling” someone on Google+ you can now “subscribe” to a Facebook users status updates.
This basically means that even if they have not added you as a friend you can follow their status updates by having their updates appear in your news feed. A Page essentially does the same thing but now Facebook is bringing the capability to a regular user that doesn’t have their own Page.
